Why pause?

There’s never a bad time to pause, but now seems like an especially important moment not just to slow down, but to stop, so our awareness can be more embodied, and our quieting more still. Of course, stillness is most easily felt in dialogue with movement. During this retreat, we will move, pause, and move again, tuning into our internal rhythm through gentle movement, meditation, breath work and personal reflection.

p . a . u . s . e — Sunday, November 24

Recently, our in-town retreats have been three hours. I have increased the length of this retreat so we may be less hurried and get a little bit more lost in the practices. We will have a break midway for a snack or a walk.

Our material may draw from anything in my toolkit—Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement®, pranayama (yoga breathing practice), meditation, and creative explorations in writing, drawing and movement. I will tailor the day considering the needs of the moment and the individuals participating.

Feel free to ask your questions about this retreat.
